God is calling out your Name!

Moses was so intrigued by the sight of the burning bush that he turned to see what was the meaning of it.  He was curious more than anything but when he came close, he found God calling out his name.  Now for some, in that time, they would find this hard to believe at all, but for others they could believe it, but only for that time period.  How about in today’s society.  Do we believe that God is still calling out our name and that He can use whatever He wants to peek our curiosity and get our attention?

What is our approach to God when He is trying to guide us into places of safety and give direction?  Are we able to understand that just like days of Moses, our God never changes and that we are His people, just like Moses?  We all have the same desires and humanity that Moses did.  I believe we lose sight of the potential that God sees in us and we sell out by listening to the lies of the world, who’s desire is to distract us.

If you took a moment to evaluate your life can you say that you are willing to let God call out your name from the bush.  Would you be open to acknowledging that He was calling you?  In order to truly connect with our created purpose on this earth we are going to have to come to terms with a God that eagerly desires to speak our name and begin to walk in relationship with God one step at a time.

The instructions that Moses received were instructions of VISION for Moses life.  From that point on Moses had the charge and order for his life to become all that God intended him to be.  Many of us today are walking around seeking answers to questions from God that are the wrong questions to be asking.  We need to encounter God in a way that He instructs each of us with the vision for our life.  When God calls out your name will your answer to God be “Here am I”?

“And Moses said, ‘I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.”  When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, ‘Moses, Moses!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’” – Exodus 3:3-4

“In that day the Lord of hosts will be a crown of glory, and a diadem of beauty, to the remnant of His people, and a spirit of justice to Him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.”  Isaiah 28:5-6

“The glory that you have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in Me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent Me and loved them even as you loved Me.  Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given Me, may be with Me where I am, to see My glory that you have given Me because you loved Me before the foundation of the world.  O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent Me.  I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”John 17:22-26

Questions for Reflection:

▪ Am I willing to receive the love of the Father?

▪ Do I desire to make Him continually known?

▪ When was the last time I turned aside to see the great sight God has for me?

▪ When God calls me am I willing to say, “Here am I”?

▪ Am I dull of hearing that I cannot hear the Lord calling my name?

▪ Do I realize that God desires me to be a part of His remnant?
